Passing through the south of Paris? Take the opportunity to visit La Boutique du Futur, located 300 m from the line 4 station "Mairie de Montrouge". And yes, it exists… for real. The height of suburban exoticism, it is on the ground floor of a… council housing block!
An unusual place.
While at first glance the place may look like a simple shop, know that it is the laboratory where designers bustle about, endlessly proposing new concepts, immediately tested in the shop window. It is therefore a sort of stable where each prototype is shown to the public, so that the gems, the "hits" destined for wider distribution, can be spotted, such as the Butter Cow, which began as a run of 10 pieces before becoming the hit we know.
That way you can find previews of objects invented according to the creators' moods, the news and even local demand, which gave birth to the Montrouge water bottle, promoting the use of tap water.
Underground design.
For the lucky ones, you can visit the workshop – nicknamed Ali Baba's cave – usually closed to the public, which shows how, with very limited means, great things can be invented. In short, come and take a trip into the future.
