La Boutique du Futur takes part in the Montrouge Artists' Open Studios 2026
On 23, 24, 25 then 30 and 31 May 2026, La Boutique du Futur takes part in the Montrouge Artists' Open Studios. Over two weekends, artists, studios and unusual venues open their doors to the public all over the town.
On this occasion, Nicolas Trub will present the Hot Don, a cut-metal sausage grill currently crowdfunding on Ulule. Somewhere between a barbecue tool, an absurd sculpture and a pop wink, the project fits perfectly into the universe of La Boutique du Futur: improbable, funny, handmade and slightly useless objects… and therefore utterly indispensable.
The Hot Don: the barbecue becomes an art performance
Laser-cut from metal, the Hot Don hijacks the codes of the traditional barbecue to turn it into a manifesto object. Visitors will be able to discover the prototypes, the cutting tests, the stages of manufacture, the Ulule campaign and the behind-the-scenes of the project.
An immersion in the world of La Boutique du Futur
The Open Studios will also be a chance to discover other inventions dreamed up in Montrouge:
- The VachàBeurre, which turns cold butter into easy-to-spread strands.
- The Babyplane, the aeroplane spoon for reluctant children.
- The Zoomeur, a monocle based on the pinhole principle.
- The DR BULB, tiny glasses for light bulbs.
- The SavOsec, an anti-soggy-soap system.
- The repurposed bottle openers inspired by Corsica and the Soviet world.
Somewhere between a gallery, a prototyping workshop and a contemporary cabinet of curiosities, La Boutique du Futur stands for independent, handmade and experimental creation.
Montrouge, a town of contemporary art
The Artists' Open Studios are organised in collaboration with the association Les Yeux Fertiles. The event lets the public meet artists directly in their creative spaces and discover painting, sculpture, photography, design and hybrid objects.
